Querying NIR You can send a query to the National Immunisation Register (NIR) directly from indici in order to view the patient’s immunisation record (provided their information has been stored on the NIR in the past). To do so: Click NIR Status Query button: Upon clicking this button a window opens as shown in below image: In the window that opens, you can use Search Type field to specify what type of search you wish to carry out: Exact Match- Will return results that match the searched name/other details Wildcard- Enables you to type in and search by only part of a name (e.g. Jon Mei will return Jonathan Meister). This search operates for the NHI database, not the NIR. Once results are returned, you can select the appropriate one and use it to query the NIR Soundex- When using this search you must provide the patient’s full name. However, the system will also return results that “sound like” the name, e.g. if you type Philips the system will also return Phillips. This search operates for the NHI database, not the NIR. Once results are returned, you can select the appropriate one and use it to query the NIR Once you click NIR Status Query results will be returned to your inbox within ten minutes. If the query returns any NIR message of the type 'VXR^V03', then it will be auto-filed as soon as received in Provider's Inbox and the vaccines will be merged. The subject of the message will be shown as NIR Query Status Result in the Inbox. Clicking on subject will open the message where the File option will be hidden as the record has already been auto-filed.
